About Our Site

TheCarer was formed to offer a unique reference point on the practicalities and emotional needs of caring.

Caring for someone can be both challenging and very rewarding. TheCarer provides valuable information and advice on caring for someone close to you, whether it's a spouse, child, relative or friend, and also has articles on the issues associated with being employed as a carer.

TheCarer covers all aspects of life as a carer, such as financial, emotional and health matters. The site also deals with practical issues such as finding help and support, financial aid and organising accommodation. TheCarer also covers what the role of being a carer actually entails, including articles on specific types of caring such as caring for a spouse and caring for a friend or neighbour.

TheCarer is written by people with a genuine interest in caring and in providing quality, useful content for carers. We want to make the site as valuable as possible to readers and we're always looking for new ideas, so if there's something you'd like to see us covering, do write in, send us your story or ask our experts.

Our concern was that there was no single UK resource for interesting features and practical advice on this subject.

Our features and articles are written by experts - who have experience, or a particular interest in this area.

Our Background

TheCarer was founded by John Rowlinson, the founder of PtS.

John, through PtS, is involved in a number of ventures including software and property companies. A percentage of revenue from these activities goes towards funding TheCarer and a number of similar sites.

Our focus is simply on having experts create the highest quality information possible that is widely read.
